Why do I belong to a freezer meal group? Well, there are several reasons. First of all, it saves time, money, and stress. Another big reason I am part of a freezer meal group is that I always have a meal in the freezer to give to a friend in need, whether it is someone who had a baby or an illness, or just someone who is having a bad day.
Sunday evening I recieved a phone call from a dear friend that is actually in my freezer meal group. She said "I won't be able to do my meals for this month". We were meeting Tuesday to exchange meals for the month, and she hadn't gotten hers done yet. She then continued to tell me that her mothers house had burned down that day. It was a total loss and they actually bull-dozed it. All her childhood memories gone. She was interviewed on the 10:00 news on channel 2 Sunday night. If any of you happened to see it, it was the home in Pleasent View. Anyway, the rest of the group and I decided that even though she didn't provide a meal for the rest of us that month, we still felt strongly to give her all of our meals. That what a group like this is there for, to serve our fellow members and help in times of need. This is why I do this!

That's awesome you ladies do that! How sad about your friend's mother's house and all those memories gone! That's horrible! Good for you for serving in such a simple yet much needed way! :-)
